'Every experience in Mali was moving but the moment that sticks in my mind was our arrival at the first village. Women, men and children came running from the huts and fields, eager to meet us.

They took immense pride in their surroundings, their work, food and families. They were happy with what seemed so little compared to our lives.

The women were unbelievable. They fed the family, educated the children, fetched wood and water, tended the crops and made clothes. I will never complain about housework again!

It was good to see that the money raised by Oxfam is used to help people help themslves.

All these projects ensure that people have a basic quality of life - surely every human's right!'
