“When we’re not in school I spend most of the day playing with my friends,” says Jumeli. “We play a hopping game [very like hopscotch] or we go swimming in the river. I’m in Grade Five at school. My favourite subject is science. I don’t like maths. I’d like to be a teacher when I grow up. I know some words in English – ‘What’s your name?’ ‘My name is Jumeli Yanti’. ‘How are you?’”
