Because we share our lives with the people around us, we have
to help each other in all sorts of ways. Doing special jobs for
our families is an important part of growing up. Whether we set
the table, tidy our toys or look after animals it can be fun to
share the work at home.

like to do the shopping and carry the heavy bags for his mother.
Cidinha helps her mother break babassu
nuts. The oil in the nuts is valuable because the villagers
use it to make soap which they sell. Cidinha can exchange the
nuts she breaks at the village shop for a new pencil case or
exercise book.
