The answer is b) 1951. Oxfam first started in 1942 (it was called
the Oxford Committee for Famine Relief then), so it was still a
very young organisation when it started collecting clothes and money
for people affected by famine in Bihar, an Indian state. By 1975
Oxfam had been working with groups in India for 24 years.
2. What is the name given to the annual rainy season in India that
lasts from June to September?
The answer is a) Monsoon. Floods often happen during the monsoon,
but are not a problem unless the rains are too heavy or long. The
floods bring water for crops; they are part of every year and people
are used to them and prepared for them. Cyclones are violent and
often catastrophic tropical storms which sometimes occur during
the monsoon season. The damage done by cyclones can be disastrous.

The answer is c) Hindi. Though English is quite commonly spoken
throughout India, it is not an official language.There is no such
language as Indian. Instead there are many official languages. Urdu,
Punjabi and Bengali are among them.

The answer is a) New Delhi. Bombay and Bangalore are other large

The answer is c) 330 million. This is a great many people, but India's
total population is huge; 970.6 million* people live in India.
