9 Use ICT to gain access to additional information sources and to assist in handling, presenting and analysing geographical evidence.
 
10 Use problem-solving and decision-making skills to address geographical issues.

Pupils should be taught about three countries: Wales, [one country from the European Union other than those in the United Kingdom,] one less economically developed country.

5 Examine the changes taking place and the processes leading to change in Wales. Recognise that decisions made at different levels – local, regional, national and international – can affect Wales’ current and future development and the quality of life of different groups of people living within it.

Questions to ask in relation to standards in sustainable development and global citizenship

  • Are the statutory requirements for sustainable development and a global dimension in geography being met?
  • Does the PSE provision give enough attention to sustainable development and global citizenship?
  • Do pupils show an appropriate level of awareness and understanding of sustainable development knowledge, understanding, skills, attitueds and values necessary to become a global citizen?
