Queen Mary's High School, Walsall, in the UK. Millennium poem
by Laura, aged 12, Queen Mary's High School
The world is the future of today's children, the past and the present
It is ours to care for and treat lovingly to ruin and destroy.
The future is the hottest desert, largest ocean and biggest sky.
The animals and plants are here to stay, to love and hold, not to go away.
Look after them they're all we've got, they've seen the world more as they've grown up.
The future is all there is to see, no more wars or killing, let it be.
The future is everything to look forward to, to dread and to fear,
The future is bright and dull.
The future is everything, our past, present and future.
