Timbuktu - what's it like?
Abdoucarine selling souvenirs. "I like life in Timbuktu because there are many Muslims in the town, and three great mosques.The oldest and most famous of the mosques is the Djinguereber Mosque, which I have attended since I was 10. When I'm not in school I sell souvenirs to make a bit of money and to help my people who are out in the desert. If I make some money I buy sugar, rice, tea, and whatever else they need, and send it to them, and then during the vacations I join them in the desert." Abdoucarine Ag Hamalek, 12
