The Feria of Malaga

Women dancing in the street; traditional dress and traditional dancing

People have lunch and dinner later than usual during the Feria, and they also stay up until very late eating. It is very typical to eat tapas or raciones (small quantities of food to accompany drinks) in the bars and casetas. People eat a lot of food and drink during festival. They drink beer, Málaga Moscatel - a sweet wine, and Jerez – fine dry sherry. Very rich food is popular, espeially a stew called callos, which help stop people getting drunk. If you get drunk the party is over.
