The Feria of Malaga

Fans and other souvenirs for sale at a temporary stall at the Feria

There are two kinds of Feria, day Feria and night Feria:

  • The day Feria, in the morning and afternoon, takes place in the streets and the centre of the town, starting at around 11:00 am and finishing at 7:00 pm, although some bars go on until late;

  • The night Feria, in the evening, night and early morning, takes place outside the centre. You need to go by bus or car, out to where it happens, in a big area called "El Real". There are attractions and many stalls where you can eat, lots of dancing and singing and also it's also a place to see nationally famous singers and groups. It starts at 7:00p.m. and finishes at 6 or 7 in the morning. when the done thing is to go and eat churros con chocolate, famous throughout Spain. The churros – a strip of fried dough – is dipped into the hot chocolate, which is very thick.
