Developing Rights
|
Developing Rights is a resource for use with 11-14
year olds. It starts with young people's own concerns and
examines them in terms of rights and issues, in a social and
global context.

Through looking at how young people are claiming their rights around
the world, pupils are encouraged to consider rights issues in their
own lives. Case study material comes from countries including South
Africa, Lebanon and Ethiopia. In particular, this material supports
the teaching of Citizenship and PSE/PSD.
The background information for teachers
includes summaries of The Universal Declaration of human rights
and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
These pages have been adapted from Oxfam's print publication,
Developing Rights, which you can order
online.
