From the Foundation Stage classroom activities
on Global Citizenship themes online resource
Age group: 3 - 5
Aims:
For pupils to gain an awareness of similarities and differences
between people, an awareness of different places, and a positive
attitude towards difference and diversity.
What to do:
You will need:
Look at and talk about similarities between the daily lives of
those in the books and our own lives. Ask the pupils to illustrate
a frieze entitled 'A day in the life of our class'.
Planned outcome:
That pupils become more aware of the similarities between people
around the world.
Note: Shompa Lives in India can also be used for work on
Diwali, because Shompa and her family are Hindu.
