Lesson plan: Resolutions

From the Bullying online resource

Resources:
You will need:

Introduction and whole-class activity:
Read pages 14-20 of Frog and the Stranger.

1. Why did Pig, Duck and Hare change their mind about the way they felt about Rat?
2. Do they think Rat was trying to please the other animals, or was he just simply being himself?
3. Which animals do they think changed the most during this story? In what way did they change?
4. Do they think the animals would have behaved differently if another new animal arrived?

Give the pupils the Resolutions worksheet. Read the first situation on the Resolutions worksheet. Use shared writing to model the way in which the resolution could be found for the first situation.

Group activity:
In their groups, ask the pupils to come up with resolutions for the other situations.

Plenary:
Ask each group to share their resolutions and say whether these would be easy or difficult to follow in a real-life situation.
