Millennium Development Goals competition - winning entries!

To mark the mid-point of the MDGs we invited you and your students to send in posters inspired by the Goals.

We received hundreds of exellent entries and it proved very hard to judge between them. After careful consideration, our judges chose a winner and two runners-up in each category. Many thanks to everyone who sent posters in! Our judges were delighted by the level of understandng and artistic flair displayed.

Primary winners

1. The overall winner from a Primary School is Maisie Crome aged 9, from Jubilee Primary School, London. The judges loved her inspiring message about working together to make the world a better place.

2. The following entry by Francesca Alana Pole from Springwood Primary, Cardiff was highly commended by the judges. They thought it was a very original idea and design.

3. The judges also highly commended Hazim, aged 9 from Springwood Primary, Cardiff. They felt his poster was very well drawn and displayed a good understanding of what the Goals are trying to achieve.

Secondary winners

1. The overall winner in the Secondary category comes from Caroline Shirt, age 12 from Wirral Grammar School for Girls. The judges were incredibly impressed by her ability to combine a great design with so much information about the Goals.

2. Zachary Godfrey aged 14 from Farnham Heath End School, Surrey was also highly commended by the judges who felt his poster was inspiring and very well designed.

3. The following entry by Emily Little of Wirral Grammar School for Girls was also highly commended by the judges. Her poster conveys a powerful message about our responsibility to work towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals.
