| Global express: Where to now... to make poverty history?
Free 'Make Poverty History' edition of Global Express for teachers.
This special edition of Global Express helps young people to critically reflect on actions they may have taken to support Make Poverty History, and to evaluate how effective the campaign was.
It was written towards the end of 2005, but its content is still relevant and could easily be adapted for use in lessons about the legacy and impact of Make Poverty History.
Aimed at teachers of 8-14 year olds, it includes information about key events in 2005 (the G8 Summit, Live8, the UN Millennium Summit in New York) as well as activities that encourage pupils to think about the part they may have played in Make Poverty History.
Contents list:
2005 – an opportunity to make poverty history
What are the Millennium Development Goals
What happened at the G8?
What happened at the UN Summit?
What is the WTO?
Fact file: trade, aid, debt
It also includes ideas for use in the classroom:
