White Band Day 5 The last two years have been hugely important in the global fight against poverty. The Make Poverty History campaign in 2005 achieved many of its aims, but there is still a lot of work to do. Launched in 2005, the Global Campaign Against Poverty (GCAP) - the world's largest anti-poverty movement - continues to put pressure on governments to deliver on their promises to the world's poor.
2007's actions will climax with White Band Day 5 on 17 October – the International Day of the Eradication of Poverty. All over the world people will be Standing Up and Speaking Out against poverty and inequality. The white band continues to be the symbol of people all over the world who want see an end to poverty. For more information about national and regional events for White Band Day 5 see the White Band Day website.
Just sign up to say you're 'in' and we’ll let you know how you can help, which could be anything from campaigning to recycling your mobile phone or just volunteering some time.
