Sudan: Crisis in Darfur
| Sudan: Crisis in Darfur brings together
information from the main Oxfam website and external sites
to enable teaching around the current humanitarian crisis
unfolding in the west of Sudan. |
Background
Over one million people in Darfur, Western Sudan,
have been targeted by armed groups, forcing them to flee elsewhere
in the region, and into neighbouring Chad. Villages have been destroyed,
as have crops, livestock and businesses.
Oxfam is working in camps set up for those who have
fled the conflict. We are constructing latrines and providing clean
drinking water and washing facilities, to prevent the spread of
disease.
