How we are helpingDonate to this project

Anne Keegan established women's group Tea in the Pot, in Govan, one of the most deprived areas of the city. She realised that there was nowhere for local women to meet and find support. The group is now flourishing, and with others, is leading the way in establishing a community café in Govan.

"I created Tea in the Pot, but without realising it I have created it to help myself as well as others. Outside here, people do not have the time to give you. This is about ordinary women coming in and being able to share their problems."

About the project

In parts of Glasgow high levels of poverty continue to exist. Many people face long-term unemployment, ill health and lower life expectancy. Nutritious, fresh food is unaffordable for most people in these areas. GlasGrow is an exciting initiative led by two local women's groups to help make their community healthier.

With your support, we can help them create a sustainable profit-generating café and catering business, serving produce sourced from local small-scale market gardens to the local community. The project will work to make healthy, nutritious, affordable food more widely available to everybody.
