Jahangir Khan is an enthusiastic Change Maker and regularly attends 'We Can' activities in Swabi district. He comes from a very strict, traditional family and grew up with a violent father. One day, a friend invited him to join a study circle on how violence-free homes are happier, and Jahangir put what he learned into practice.
We used to believe that beating a woman was necessary to ensure their good behavior. I used to beat my wife at the slightest provocation. Now instead, we have good discussions and make good decisions. I have changed my old habits forever.

The majority of women in Pakistan regularly experience some form of violence. It is so entrenched in society that it is often seen as the norm. And when disasters occur and families are forced to leave their homes, women become even more vulnerable.
Your donation will help protect women who find themselves at greater risk after emergencies such as last year's floods. It will also support the on-going 'We Can' end violence against women campaign, which is helping to change attitudes and spread the anti-violence message throughout schools and local communities.
