About us

Information about why Oxfam works with teachers, educationalists and young people in the UK.

Oxfam works in education policy and practice to empower young people to be active Global Citizens. We promote education that helps young people understand the global issues that affect their lives and take action towards a more just and sustainable world.

Our teams in England, Scotland and Wales support teachers through our range of on- and off-line resources, teacher training and professional development, and partnership work with a range of other organisations.

We work with policy makers to influence the education environment in the UK, and work with international partners to support education for Global Citizenship initiatives across the world.

The Oxfam Education website offers hundreds of free online resources, lesson plans, teaching ideas, and support and guidance for education practitioners. Our award-winning resources are all quality tested by experienced educators, and all take a Global Citizenship approach.

Oxfam also works directly with young people aged 16-25: for more information see Generation Why.
