"Global citizenship is not an add-on to Curriculum for Excellence - it is central to it"

Mike Russell MSP, Education and Lifelong Learning.

Global citizenship is now included in educational policy in Scotland. Non-Governmental Organisations like Oxfam have an essential role to play in adding perspectives from communities whose voices are seldom heard.

Many teachers say they would like to incorporate global citizenship into their teaching but that they lack confidence. Oxfam Scotland works in close partnership with six Development Education Centres (DECs) in Scotland supporting teachers with global citizenship through CPD, resources and project work.
