Promoting Action

680x150

Active global citizenship aims to empower pupils to take action for themselves. Along with the knowledge and values that they have gained from learning about global issues, pupils need to be equipped with the necessary skills and confidence to be pro-active in making a positive difference in the world.

We promote a structured approach to this, following a Learn-Think-Act sequence, to ensure pupils have time to learn more and think critically about their agency, before taking informed and responsible action.

Harts Ladder of Participation

Roger Hart's Ladder of Participation is a useful illustration of the principles we hope teachers will use when engaging pupils to promote action, This means putting young people at the heart of activity design.
