The Youth Achievement Award (YAA) is made of a number of 15 hour challenges, which can include preparation, travel time and research as well as the time actually spent doing planned activities.
Young people can choose which level of award to go for (Bronze, Silver or Gold), depending on the role they take on as part of a group and the number of 15 hour challenges completed.
What support can Oxfam provide?
Oxfam can help your school to register with YAA. We will also provide challenge sheets, based around our campaigns issues, which will help young people plan their 15 hour challenges as a group.
Students will need to collect evidence (such as photos and worksheets) of the work they've done and use this to compile a portfolio. The portfolio can be completed online.
Oxfam's Youth and Schools Team will work with you and your school to help compile evidence and submit it for approval.
