Oxfam's most important book for a decade
From Poverty to Power is Oxfam's most important book for a decade. It's in-depth look at the causes and effects of poverty and inequality, as well as the possible solutions. Full of up-to-date research, human stories, statistics, and compelling arguments, we think it's the state of the art text about the world we live in, and how we can make it a better place for everyone. For busy teachers and older (14+) pupils, there's also a summary available - The Urgency of Now. Both books are available to buy or to download free of charge.

Two million new teachers are still needed to provide children with a decent education – and 15 million will be needed by 2015 to achieve education for all.
This World Teachers’ Day, why not teach about the importance of teachers and education across the world?
