Once a year, the leaders of the world’s eight most rich and powerful countries – the G8 – come together to talk about global poverty. This week of activities explores what the G8 is, how it works and the issues surrounding the decisions its makes.

The first day of the meeting falls during the Japanese Tanabata festival where people tie written wishes to bamboo trees. Use this as inspiration for a colourful and challenging finale.
