Food for Thought

Oxfam's innovative new global citizenship project for schools

Where does our food come from? How is the climate changing what's on our plates? And, with a global population set to hit 9 billion by 2050, how will we ever manage to make sure everyone always has enough to eat?

These some of the questions pupils can explore through our new Food for Thought schools project, as they are encouraged to learn, think and take action as active global citizens.

Other schools around the world will also be participating in the project – and from March 2012, pupils will be able to share what they have done with their global peers at a new website called Class for Change.

How can I get my pupils involved?

Learn resourcesFirst, get your pupils learning, thinking and inspired to take action using our Food for Thought resources.

You can use these resources to support pupils to think creatively about what they can do, and plan and carry out this action. Pupils can record their activity using our Food for Thought wallchart.

From March 2012, pupils can then share these actions on Class for Change, a new social networking space for young people to network and share inspiration and ideas with their global peers.
