Agriculture Minister from a developed country
Farming is an important industry for our country and
should therefore be supported. It employs many thousands
of people and ensures that we are self-sufficient in
food.
Protecting our farmers by offering direct and indirect
subsidies can
mean that we are left with a surplus of produce. But
if we can make some money by selling it cheaply to other
countries, surely that's better than wasting it!
