Host an Oxfam Event at Your School

680x150

Host a Farmers Feeding our World event at your Secondary School as a structured way to inspire and engage your Primary feeder and other partner schools. The event will explore the link between the food we consume and the people who produce - helping pupils develop skills like teamworking, creativity. communication and critical thinking.

Oxfam will provide the facilitators and the workshop design at no charge- you'll just need to provide the venue and invite your partner schools.

The event format is flexible but it will typically run from 9.30am-2.30pm and involve:

  • An opening assembly
  • An initial learning session
  • A creative workshop (pupils create t-shirts/videos/posters etc)
  • A feedback / plenary session with big group photo

What would your school gain?

  • Inspire and engage your feeder primary schools/partner secondary schools.
  • Promote pupil centred action to engage learners with social and moral issues, supporting core aims of the current national curriculum
  • Enrich citizenship, geography or values based curriculums or tie it into Youth Action Committees (e.g. school or eco council).

Next steps.

If you'd be interested in running one of these events in collaboration with Oxfam contact your nearest Education and Youth Co-ordinator. This offer only applies to schools in England.
