Have you got a plain skirt in need of livening up? Follow Linsey's simple DIY steps to add a pretty lace panel to a plain skirt in no time!
You will need:
- A pencil skirt from Oxfam
- Lace or material of choice
- A sewing machine
- Tape measure
Step by Step
Step One: Take your skirt. Measure the lace to fit the length along the seams. Allow an inch either end for neater edges.
Step Two: Begin to pin the lace along the seams of the skirt. Use the tape measure to check the width of the lace and centrally align it. For example my lace is 5 inches so I have pinned 2.5 inches each side of the seam.
Step Three: Double stitch around the edge of the lace. You now have a gorgeous skirt with a lovely lace detail!
Tip: If you like, you can flip the skirt over, cut the material beneath the lace and you'll have a see through lace panel.
