AIDS in Africa: a crisis out of control? According to a new UN report, 89 million more Africans could be infected by the HIV virus in the next 20 years if more isn't done to combat the epidemic. That would represent 10 per cent of the entire African population. The UN says that $200 billion of investment is needed to stop AIDS bringing Africa to its knees.
