World Poverty Day - this Sunday

In a refreshing twist, global poverty will become the central focus of the election battle this Sunday. All the major parties have agreed to make 24 April 'World Poverty Day', and each will spell out their proposals on how they intend to help lift millions from poverty. Staging this in the middle of an election means that MPs are starting to realise that many voters want to see action on poverty, both at home and abroad. World Poverty Day will feature speeches from senior party figures, and will allow the public to hear exactly what politicians intend to do to help the world's poorest people.
