How Oxfam responds in an emergency With the earthquake in South Asia still very much on the news, it's interesting to look at how Oxfam responds in emergency situations. There's loads of info about this on the main Oxfam website. Oxfam is currently doing emergency work in over 30 countries, and that work requires a lot of organisation - from the early response to fundraising, and from working with other NGOs to rebuilding livelihoods afterwards. But being prepared is the key to the success of any response. Oxfam is working to prevent the kind of dramatic emergency situations we see on our television screens developing in the first place.
