Small Guides to Big Issues winners
With over 100 brilliant entries for our competition to win our fab new Small Guides, choosing five winners was hard work. Eventually, we managed to whittle them down. We asked you what issue you would most like to see a Small Guide focus on. This is what the winners said:
Rob Barham suggested breaking the issue of globalisation down in a book, ‘because it’s huge and moving so fast’.
In order to devalue some of the prejudices, Lucy Tavener said we need a guide to unemployment and opportunities.
Samantha Viggers thought world religions should be addressed so that we have a better understanding of different cultures.
A small guide to ethical shopping, said Nikki Burns, to give us a better idea of where all our ‘stuff’ comes from and how it’s made.
And, concerned with young people’s attitude towards politics, Aideen McDonald suggested a small guide to the importance of voting.
Well done to the winners for your genius ideas, copies of our Small Guides to Big Issues will be on your doorstep any day now.
Thanks a lot to all those of you who entered, we’ve loved reading all your ideas, and have gained a real insight into what you really care about and what you think needs to be explained. As for the next Small Guide – watch this space.
