WANTED! - Information about Klaxon's fan James B

One die-hard Klaxons fan named James wrote to us last month telling us about how inspirational the Klaxons have been to him, and we couldn’t help but be moved by his dedication to the band.

On the 10th January we announced him as one of two winners of exclusive Klaxons signed T-shirts, but alas, our emails have bounced back and we have no other contact details. We've still got his signed t-shirt and are desperate to get his well-deserved prize to him. James B – if you're out there – please get in touch at generationwhy@oxfam.org.uk

Worst ever Christmas present wins a month's supply of chocolate

Last month we asked you to tell us about the worst Christmas present you've ever received, in order to win something decent: a month's supply of Dubble Fair Trade chocolate.

Tragic items included a pair of Lion King Y-fronts, a book about South East train networks and a used foot spa (complete with pieces of old dry skin).

But it was the proud receiver of a gift-wrapped box of sand that we thought most deserved some compensation, a present for Martin from Sunderland from his lovely brother. What was the explanation? 'He was skint'. At least he threw in some polystyrene for good measure.

How far would you go to help the environment and tackle climate change?

According to a survey commissioned by the UK National Lottery, young people are prepared to support radical measures to help the environment.

The findings include:

50% of 16-19 year olds want plastic bags banned completely.
71% think that unnecessary packaging on food should go.
13% want a ban on travelling by plane for leisure purposes.
24% think there should be increases on the taxes and tolls affecting cars.
10% are prepared to go even further and would support a complete ban on cars if global warming continues to get worse.
9% would even go so far as to support guerrilla activities carried out by environmental groups.

The survey also asked young people about how green issues influence other lifestyle and relationship choices.

How do you feel about these issues and how far would you go to help protect our environment? Leave us a comment below.

Klaxons winners announced

Our very own Peter Lusby asked the brilliant Klaxons - Simon, James, Jamie and Steffan - to sign two t-shirts as souvenirs of another rocking tour. Then we gave them away to two of the biggest, most die-hard Klaxons fans we could find. Competition was tough; some stories were hilarious, some heart-wrenching and others just plain odd, but finally a decision had to be made. A skinny girls’ top went to Polish fan, Isabel, who we think deserved some credit for setting up the first ever Polish fan site for the band. The boys' t-shirt went to James, whose life was transformed after first seeing the Klaxons on Jools Holland and who dedicated a 40 page research project to them. Great effort you two, and thanks a lot to all of you who wrote in

Violence in Kenya

Following the outbreak of violence in the aftermath of December's elections, Oxfam is supporting Kenyan groups working towards a peaceful solution to the crisis.

The violence has left hundreds dead, and the UN estimates around 250,000 have been forced from their homes. Many others are sheltering in their homes with dwindling supplies of food and water.
