February 2006: Fair Trade Love Week

Spreading the love at OHS.

To celebrate Valentine’s Day (any excuse for some fun) and promote Fairtrade chocolate, we decided to spread a little love in the form of Divine Chocolate bars in the last week of the spring half-term.

The idea was that pupils could buy a card and a chocolate bar of their choice for their friends, to be delivered by us at registration the next day. We even wore wings to deliver the chocolate – the school’s very own Fairtrade fairies.

People and Planet group members manned a stall at lunch times, springing the chocolate on somewhat startled passers by… The service proved to be very popular, and as well as being good fun we also got to enjoy the high quality of the fair trade chocolate. And we think we got a few people hooked!

Cards and a chocolate bars chosen by other pupils were delivered by us at registration the next day.
