Outreach’s aim is to raise awareness of Oxfam’s campaigns that promote a just and safer world for all. We do this by getting along to local festivals, gigs and events and campaigning. Basically an Outreacher’s job is to inform the public on Oxfam’s campaigns and how they can make a difference, such as signing a petition that will promote action.
Although Leeds division of Outreach is only new (London, Birmingham, Cardiff, North East and Scotland’s Outreach has been running for longer), we have campaigned at Corinne Bailey Rae, The Cooper Temple Cause, Free Comic Book Day, as well as many of the IIFA (International Indian Film Academy) Fringe events.
Outreachers not only get the chance to get into festival, gigs and events for free, but they also make a difference in the process!
