Update from Leeds!

We're having problems adding pics to our blog at the moment, but I just wanted to say that Leeds is now in full swing. Our campaigners have told us that 1,000s of happy festival-goers arrived last night, and were crammed into our Oxfam tent in their 100s when the only other music stage open at the time had to close down! Hectic times, but our heroic team held their own. Our campaigners have just started their shift, and they'll be raising awareness about Make Trade Fair. One other update: Nick from our shops team on site in Leeds has done the first bank run from yesterday and reported a record for one day's trading at a festival - £12,000! Nice one!

The Big Noise gets louder...

The 15,000 signatures we collected at V will help to take the Big Noise Petition ever closer to its target of 10 million, before the WTO meets in Hong Kong in December. Click on the image above for our Big Noise barometer - which shows just how many signatures have been collected across the world so far. Awesome stuff.

Over 15,000 signatures for the Big Noise Petition!

We've got the big final count from both V Stafford and V Chelmsford - a whopping 15,000 BRILLIANT people showed their support for Make Trade Fair by signing the Big Noise Petition. It's brilliant that we were able to get so many supporters - a big thank you goes out to all the volunteers who made the weekend happen (and of course to all of you who signed the petition). If you haven't already, sign the petition here.

Howie, lead singer of the Stands

Howie agrees that trade rules need to be changed. He said that, "Everyone should be given the chance to work their own way out of poverty. It is just inhuman that trading systems stop them from being able to. Governments and companies should listen - Make Trade Fair"

Becks and Rose and more celebs

Becks and Rose worked hard to get even more of the artists to show their support for Make Trade Fair.

Check out Abi from the Zutons. She knew all about the Make Trade Fair campaign and was pleased as punch to pose for a photo.

The Hives

And finally we met up with The Hives before they went on stage. They were well up for hearing about making trade fair.

Tomorrow is going to be another packed day, and we can't wait.

At the same time Athlete were doing a shout out for Make Trade Fair. We bumped into both Preston and Joel after they had been on stage and were able to thank them for their support.

The extraordinary Ordinary Boys

Had a long chat with the Ordinary Boys. They posed for a picture for Make Trade Fair, and we talked with them about the campaign. We asked Preston if he could do a shout out for Oxfam during his set. True to his word he told the audience to Make Poverty History.

Nick from Rooster

We then spotted the very beautiful Nick from Rooster. He was friendly (and sexy!) With any luck he will still be wearing his white band tomorrow when Rooster are on stage at Chelmsford.

Serge from Kasabian

Next off we walked straight into Serge from Kasabian. He was mingling backstage. Kasabian are not playing till the Carling weekend. He stopped for a bit of a chit-chat and a Make Trade Fair picture. We'll catch up with him and the rest of the band next week.

Rod from Idlewild

We were rather excited to bump into Rod from Idlewild. He was more than happy to stop and pose for a quick pic wearing a white band.

Embrace

We met up with Embrace to talk to them about the Make Trade Fair Campaign. They posed for this rather nice photo. Not only that, they did a fantastic shout out for Oxfam when they were on stage. Thanks a lot guys, it really helps the campaign to get more publicity.

Bec and Rose's backstage diary

Becs and Rose have been the lucky two with the backstage passes. From the looks of it though they have been working pretty hard for Make Trade Fair.

What follows is the diary of the best celeb duo ever...

Sunday Morning

There is nothing lazy about this Sunday morning. The tent is packed to the rafters and there is pleanty to do. We were even forced to recruit these rather attractive helpers. A big thanks to the Stag boys from Sheffield, who have also been one of many to hear about fair trade this morning. We are all loooking forward to another day of chatting to the crowds about Oxfam's campaigns.
