Wychwood starts the summer with a smile

Well, we're back and we've had a little rest after a brilliant weekend at Wychwood. It got our festival season off to an absolute flier, with great weather (except for an unexpected shower on Sunday afternoon) and nearly 1,000 people joining the Control Arms campaign (by adding their face to the Million Faces Petition).

A couple of our intrepid campaigners took coloured pens around with them so people could draw their own face for the petition, which proved very popular. Give a man (woman or child) a pencil and they'll draw a picture, give a man (woman and child) a set of colouring felt-tip pens and they'll draw a masterpiece.

There were loads of musical highlights - Mr Scruff and Gilles Peterson in the big top tent were incredible, and Dreadzone, the Guillemots and 'Amadou and Mariam' on the main stage were fantastic. The Silent Disco (see pic) was also a big hit - and a very strange experience. Did you try it?

All in all, it was a great way to start the festival season - we hope to see loads of you at the other festivals coming up, starting with Isle of Wight this weekend (We've just sneaked a cheeky peek at the weather forecast and we can't wait - glorious sunshine all weekend!).
