Oxfam has been a part of the summer festival experience for years. 2006 is no different, and we’re pleased to be associated with the best festivals this year. But why do we go?

Campaigning
Festivals are a great time to raise awareness about all the stuff we do - if we want to do something about poverty we need more than just donations. That’s why, at festivals and events, Oxfam volunteers talk about the issues and ways to get involved.

Be the first to hear about these great volunteering opportunities - sign up to our monthly newsletter e-Xtra.

Stewards
At some of the festivals we provide the stewards. Our stewards are all volunteers who have come to make sure the festival runs smoothly and, as we get paid for their shifts, also to raise a whole load of cash for Oxfam’s work to overcome poverty and suffering. In fact, our stewards raise around £400,000 each year across the festivals season.

Find out more about stewarding opportunities on the main Oxfam website.
