V Festival 2005
Little green camper van

It's a lean, green campaigning machine.

Our little green campaigning campervan hit Stafford for V Festival 2005, whilst a hit squad of campaigners ventured to Chelmsford too.

We took our magic green bus to V Festival to gather signatures for the Big Noise Petition. We had an awesome chill out tent at Stafford with great DJs and visuals, and the best Fair Trade coffee and grub at the whole festival.

Across the two festival sites, a whopping 15,000 punters showed their support for Make Trade Fair – the campaign that calls for governments, institutions and multinational companies to change the rules so that trade can become part of the solution to poverty, not part of the problem.

Scissor Sisters

The Scissor Sisters were 'camping' at Weston and Hylands.

We also got loads of celebs to show their support for Make Trade Fair, including Howie The Stands, Nick from Rooster and Serge from Kasabian. Those excellent Embrace boys even wore our t-shirts on stage!

Our tent was a real success too - we had comfy sofas, funky tunes, fresh smoothies, fruit juices and much more besides. We even had our very first Oxfam wedding. Festival goers were also able to pick up those essential wellies, blankets and fancy dress items at bargain prices at the on-site Oxfam shop.

Follow more of our V shenanigans on our festival blog – add your own comments, or e-mail us with your own V stories.
