music4life review: 18/09/04
Oxfam has officially hit the clubbing scene. In a small corner of Kings Cross, hundreds of like-minded people got together and partied til dawn at Oxfam’s club night.
The first music4life was held in the rather swanky club The Egg near Kings Cross. The idea was to hold a great night with the proceeds going to a great cause.
It may have been the drink, or the pretty people, but it certainly worked. Three floors were thumping out music, each with their own distinct vibe. Up top they had soulful tunes, comfy chairs and a record fair packed with donations brought in on the night for those bargain hunters.
Mark Thomas was there to add a little spice with his own special comedy DJ set.
A quick hop down to the middle floor and you could feel things getting a bit funkier. The room was quite large, beautifully laid out and very busy as people got down to DJs such as Organic Audio, Erol Alkan & Mylo.
Down in the basement they were pumping out hard house through a great sound system that literary made the floor shake.
All this, together with a fantastically chilled out open air courtyard decorated with Ibizan flair, made this a top night. See you at the next on |
