With the launch of Friction at London club Cargo, the start of the Easter weekend could not have been any better!
Hosted by Radio 1 DJ, Bobby Friction, this was the first in a series of club nights with the running theme of 'conscious clubbing'.
The Sona Family started the night off with a live performance to get the crowd going. Ever-enthusiastic Bobby Friction and his Radio 1 counterpart Nihal followed with their mix-up of Asian beats, hip-hop and r'n'b.
Headlining was the award-winning Nitin Sawhney who played a blinding set of classics fused with drum ‘n’ bass.
The focus of the night was the Make Poverty History campaign, of which Oxfam is a member organisation.
White bands were the must-have accessory for the night and were selling like hot cakes.
A massive thank you to the man himself, Bobby Friction, along with everyone who was involved in running the night. A special thanks also to everyone who came and had a fantastic night whilst also supporting the campaign! |
