On 10 March 2005, Depth of Soul and Oxfam launched their brand new monthly club residency at London’s infamous Herbal, situated in the heart of the east end.
The night was a huge success with some of London’s hottest DJs coming down to support this year’s Make Poverty History campaign. They helped to raise awareness of the Global Call to Action Against Poverty – an alliance of charities, including Oxfam, who are uniting in 2005 to tackle the big issues causing global poverty.
State of Bengal and Alex Marks played a wicked break beat party set and, while Eddie T Morris could not make the night due to bad health, we had the talented hands of the Backstage Sluts to play the rudest (as in good) bootlegs and booty bouncing hip hop to a more-than-up-for-it crowd.
Upstairs hosted soul, funk and old skool hip hop from DJs Leke Aerosoul and Ill Logic and Raf. They were later joined by Christian Larsson (slip n slide), who treated the crowd to a soulful house set that created the perfect party atmosphere while VJ Child supplied the stunning visuals…
Thank you to everyone who came and supported while strutting his or her best dance moves… I’m sure you’ll agree that this was a great night!
