Mapping our World is a FREE online game which helps us understand our place in the world.
It looks at how a globe flattens into a map, and why different map projections make the different countries look larger or smaller than they really are.
It’s designed primarily for use by teachers in schools, but we’ve been hooked on it since we first heard about it at Generation Why HQ. This is no school game – it’s addictive, slightly surreal, and really difficult too.
A host of weird and wonderful characters guide you through the game, including Holey Moley, Bob the Pirate, and, err, aliens from the Planet Famox. So have a play, tell your kid sister / brother about it, tell your teacher – tell anybody you think will find it fun or interesting…
