mapping our world
explore the earth from a unique perspective

Mapping our World is a FREE online game which helps us understand our place in the world.

It looks at how a globe flattens into a map, and why different map projections make the different countries look larger or smaller than they really are.

It's geography, but different. Play now >>

It’s designed primarily for use by teachers in schools, but we’ve been hooked on it since we first heard about it at Generation Why HQ. This is no school game – it’s addictive, slightly surreal, and really difficult too.

A host of weird and wonderful characters guide you through the game, including Holey Moley, Bob the Pirate, and, err, aliens from the Planet Famox. So have a play, tell your kid sister / brother about it, tell your teacher – tell anybody you think will find it fun or interesting…

Holey Moley
One of our faves: find out how Holey Moley's enthusiastic tunneling can help us work out where we are in the world.
