In the past 3 years 34 universities have received Fairtrade status. Would you like to help your university join these honourable pioneers? Or are you at one of those universities and want to know how to sustain its status, and prevent it returning to a world of coca-cola and pot noodles?

Well, in February 2007, Leeds University is hosting the third Fairtrade Universities conference. It’s an event for students, teaching staff, catering staff and Fairtrade suppliers, to swap information and generate ideas.

At the conference you will be able to meet representatives from other universities – find out their success stories and discuss any problems you may have encountered along the way. You can find out about all the latest Fairtrade products, and how to get them into your universities. There will also be information about the technical business side of things – renewing contracts, re-branding outlets – that sort of thing.
