Fairtrade Fortnight
promoting fairtrade to make a positive difference
The Fairtrade Mark

The Fairtrade Mark is an independent consumer label which appears on products as an independent guarantee that disadvantaged producers in the developing world are getting a better deal.

For two weeks every year the Fairtrade Foundation organises special events all over the country to promote the products and positive effects of the Fairtrade mark.

Fairtrade has improved the lives of millions of people - farmers, workers and their families - in developing countries. But, we need to keep promoting Fairtrade to ensure people know that buying Fairtrade products can make a positive diference.

This year's Fairtrade Fortnight takes place between 25 February and 9 March and will be the biggest and best yet. Here are just some of the things you can look forward to:

fairtrade woman

Hello, my name is Becks, but for two weeks last year I transformed into the magnificent Fairtrade Woman and ate nothing but Fairtrade food for 14 whole days! I did it to raise awareness of Fairtrade Fortnight which takes place every year.

Shops could do better though. They could stock a lot more Fairtrade if they wanted to!

That's why this year (for some ever-so-slightly mad reason) I'm going to become Fairtrade Woman once again! During Fairtrade Fortnight, 25 February – 9 March 2008, I'll be surviving on nothing but Fairtrade food.
