Fem 08 is the fourth in a series of annual conferences where groups and individuals get together to discuss gender discrimination issues.

Whether you’re male or female, an active feminist or just curious about gender issues, Fem 08 is set to be an inspiring and thought-provoking day out.

It’ll be a day full of practical workshops, inspiring talks and like-minded people with confirmed speakers including Germaine Greer, Oxfam’s Sarah Blakemore and Guardian Women’s editor, Kira Cochrane.

The FEM Conferences were set up in 2004 by Kat Banyard, a university student at the time, and have been a huge success. Over the past three years, the FEM conferences have brought groups and individuals together to reveal and inspire a new generation to speak out against gender inequality.

This year it’s taking place on Saturday 26 April at Sheffield University’s Students’ Union, it’s open to all, completely free, and there’s even the official Fem Conference after- party, to round off the day with a good night out.
