I am a gap year student, and intend to study politics at Manchester University in September. I have spent my ‘gap year’ working in the third sector and travelling around Europe, which has greatly increased my awareness of the world around me. I am cautiously idealistic and believe that the power of democratic politics married with individual altruism can change this imperfect world for the better.
