Sahena has had to rebuild her house five times because of climate change

At present in the western world, we live increasingly isolated from our natural environment, in manufactured atmospheres recycling air through air-conditioning systems. As long as there is enough power to sustain our man-made atmosphere, we could be living in any climate around the world. However, we now face the problem that not only are our current power resources running out, but attempts to maintain this perfect environment have ironically resulted in atmospheric problems that are rapidly changing our climate. Our future survival is dependant upon the relationship we have with our climate, irrespective of our endeavours to control it. Not only is the climate responsible for the weather we endure, it controls the crops we grow and the livestock we raise. This may not seem an immediate concern in Britain where our streets are lined with supermarkets, but many people around the world who live without this luxury and convenience are those who are already suffering the consequences of climate change. Most people are completely unaware of the scale at which the climate will affect the human race, and with the many natural disasters occurring on a daily basis around the world, many do not realise the effect that climate change is having on people’s lives now.
