The Urgency of Now: What are you doing for others?
Meenal Odedra reviews The Urgency of Now
Described as “A small book about the madness of inequality and poverty” this book explores what is wrong in the world today, and more importantly it educates why change is needed. For someone who is not particularly involved in the political affairs of the country but wants to make a difference to the world, this book is perfect! Giving enough information to the totally clueless, yet not patronising its political readers, this book is a real eye opener. Small enough to take it into town with you, catching a quiet moment to read a page or two, but big enough to explain the situation, it is an amazing book which leaves you wanting more, leaves you asking questions and better yet, challenging the system. With its witty diagrams breaking up the writing this book is ideal, a must read for everyone. If there is anything you are going to do this summer, it ought to be buying this book, reading it and passing it on. After all, you live in the world the book speaks of and so if anyone is able to make a difference- it should be you. With statistics to leave you speechless, this book will change your perception of the world you live in. Its time we all became active citizens, and put our lives into our own hands and worked together to make the world a better place, a better place for the future generations. I’ll leave you with one thought, Freedom fighter Martin Luther King once wrote: ‘Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, “What are you doing for others?” ‘
