One billion people will go to bed hungry tonight. This is a huge number, and unjust because the world produces enough food to feed everyone. And yet women and children are living in poverty and hunger because families and communities cannot feed themselves. It shouldn't be this way.
Oxfam, as part of its GROW campaign, will draw attention to the subject of world hunger by staging a stunt outside the Conservative Party conference in Birmingham, at midday on Tuesday 9 October 2012. We want to encourage David Cameron to speak up for the world's poor and play a key role in tackling the growing food crisis.
The more people who take part in the stunt, the bigger the impact it will have. This is a fantastic opportunity to show politicians how much we care about the subject of world hunger. We can put pressure on decision makers to tackle this scandalous issue. We can make a difference.
If you'd like to find out more about the planned stunt and take part, please get in touch. We would really appreciate your support. Contact:
